What this release changes
- Fixes colour registration drift after the fuser reaches operating temperature.
- Adds Entra ID (Azure AD) sign-in for scan workflows.
- Fixes an address-book export that produced an empty CSV.
Before you start. Print a configuration page and keep it — it holds the
current firmware version, the IP address and the counters you will want if anything goes wrong.
Put the device on a wired connection if it has one, pause the print queue, and make sure nothing
will cut power for the next 15–25 minutes.
Method 1 — web interface (recommended)
- Open the printer’s address in a browser and sign in as administrator.
- Go to Embedded Web Server → Properties → General Setup → Software Upgrade → Manual Upgrade.
- Select the downloaded package and start the upload. Do not close the tab.
- Wait for the device to reboot on its own. The panel returns to Ready when it is done.
- Print a configuration page and confirm the version now reads 73.66.21.
Method 2 — USB / local
Insert a FAT32 drive with the .dlm in the root, then confirm on the panel.
Method 3 — from the panel
If the device can reach the internet: Device → Software Update → Check Now. This pulls the same release; it is the simplest route, and the slowest, because the device downloads the package itself.
Model-specific notes
- This is the slowest update in this library. The panel sits on Preparing for up to eight minutes with no progress bar. That is not a hang.
- Software Upgrade must be enabled first: Properties → General Setup → Software Upgrade → Enable. On many sites it is switched off after installation.
- Custom scan workflows are kept, but saved credentials inside them are not. Have the service-account password ready.
If the update fails
A failed upload is not a dead printer. Power-cycle the device, wait two minutes, print a configuration page and check which version it reports. If it still reports the old version, the flash never started and you can simply try again — over USB or the panel this time, not the network. If the panel is stuck on a boot or download screen, follow rollback and recovery.
Not sure it is worth updating? If the device is doing its job and none of the
fixes above describes a problem you actually have, leave it. Firmware is maintenance, not an upgrade.
